SmartGPS3-TP - Stationary GPS reference receiver
Features
The SmartGPS-3TP is a professional GPS reference receiver primarily for stationary use. It supplies position and time data via NMEA or UBX binary protocols as well as raw satellite data (optional) for supported GPS services such as Assisted GPS or Differential GPS.
A time pulse is available at a separate differential output, which is fully configurable in terms of polarity, pulse length, repetition frequency and compensation of the cable runtime down to the nanosecond range.
Connections
In order to leave as much leeway as possible when choosing the installation location of the receiver, the device is equipped with an RS422/RS485 interface that allows a cable length of up to 200 metres. The time pulse is also transmitted via such a differential line, and a connection cable with a cross-section of 0.25 mm2 is also sufficient for the power supply at this distance and 12V input voltage.
All inputs and outputs of the SmartGPS3-TP are protected against lightning strikes. An 8-pin connector in accordance with IEC 60130-9 is used for the connection.
Housing
The housing of the SmartGPS-3TP is a robust and waterproof (IP65) plastic/aluminium construction, the shape of which prevents snow deposits from impairing reception. With its temperature range of -40 to +85 °C, the entire device is designed to withstand the most adverse environmental conditions.
